How I Shoved Valentines Down Everyone’s Throat!

photo-72And it tasted like Pepto Bismo. For a change of pace, I decided to catch my children off-guard with being festive this year. All it took was sending everyone an “adorable” Valentine’s app and a lot of Splenda packets to conjure up the sweetness in our lives for a day. At least that’s what I thought.  Guess they don’t call them Conversation Candy for nothing! Have a look . . .

Desserts backwards = Stressed.  Of course!  And look — this time playing Scramble was HIS idea. At least this confirms I’m with the right guy.

Hope your Valentine’s Day is a little more on task than ours! And now excuse me while I eat my own words…

  1. Geez… encouraging bad dental hygiene in your children with all that candy. And didn’t you say one of your sons is a dental student?

Next year, use chicken hearts instead. They’re just as tasty and they project a more consistent message of love.

    • Once again, I’ve missed you!! How can I picture you with a “ring” if I never see a picture with your face ’round these parts. 😉 Plus whatever you say is always succinct and successful and I hang on your every word – – well, maybe I’m just trying to steal something to put if on my talking candy.

  2. OMG, that was too cute. I’ve missed you so much! With everything going on, I haven’t been able to stop by as often as I used to (started physical therapy again). Pffft. I love that you are as funny as ever! Happy Valentine’s Day!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. ((Hugs)) Eva

  3. Desserts and stressed…how very interesting! Happy Valentine’s Day Steph! I guess I’ll take advantage of my limited time. VDay and teens seems like a tough combination 😉

    • Ahhhh thank you! Aside from making these all up, the posting time was absurd! I had them all left aligned and the whole post looked like a jigsaw puzzle (had to get tech support) the ratio of frustration directly mirrored my love of eating toothpaste candy. Thank you for that meaningful comment in ways you have no idea!!

      • I can relate Steph! I had a similar problem with a weekly newsletter I do. The photos wouldn’t align and just as I would congratulate myself on getting them in line, they would (the grumpy, tech-fairy no doubt) stack up one on top of the other. Love the post and the witty messages AND the innovative idea of using the candy hearts. Happy Valentine’s Day!

        • Wendy!! Hope it’s a weekend filled with joy for you – – any poetry in honor? You cannot get more tech challenged than me. I’m a tech wreck. In fact, I ask for computer help so much, my college sons want to wring my little low tech neck!
          Thanks so much!

          • At short notice, this is what I’ve come up with:

            It’s Valentine’s Day
And M/s Steph wants to play
            Her greetings she sends
            And they are all penned
            On hearts of cute sweets
            It’s a tech-dream’s feat!

            Take a bow M/s Steph! 👏👏👏

              • I have published three poems so far with a fourth on the way ( I do have more but feel they need some editing). Do you know, your encouragement on the little ditties I put on your posts gave me the idea to explore poetry writing more fully? So readers can blame or thank you for my poetry 😋.
I put up a post last night a la Miss Menopause. I wrote it a month ago when my daughter showed me the cartoon and tweaked it a couple of days ago and finally put it on the blog. I couldn’t resist it! Thank you for the inspiration Steph!

      • Ohh, I’ve had my share of formatting fiascos so I know how long this probably took. Inserting photos is hard enough never mind all the fiddling you undoubtedly had to do to work out those hearts. You must luv your readers a lot to go to all that trouble!
